Hey Guys! I am very excited about this piece of art. Inspired from the 4 elements – earth, wind, water and fire, I made a 4-piece wall art.

I’ve used the Gilded Marbling Decoupage papers by Scrappy Tales, which were the perfect choice for this piece, as were the hexagon bases.

In this project, I’ve used a blend of varied craft techniques like decoupage, heat embossing and traditional Indian painting. The first step was to cut the hexagonal shapes from the marbled papers. 2 papers were complete hexagons and the other 2 were half hexagons.

The next step was to paint the borders of the two hexagonal bases with Creative Genie Metallic Copper Paint.

From the remaining bases, I painted half of one, blue and half of the other, green.

I chose the color green to symbolise earth for which the paint shade used was a mix of Jamaican Teal and Sap Green. Next, I embossed a golden tree with a heat gun

Since the part below the painted surface was to be decoupaged in marble paper, embossing wasn’t required there.

The base with the Turquoise Blue paint was used to represent water. I chose to design it with a traditional Indian folk art – Gond Painting, and painted fish jumping out of the water. For this, I used acrylic paints and markers.

The bottom half was to be decoupaged with the marble paper.

As these pieces were left to dry, I decoupaged the whole hexagon paper cut-outs to the two bases I had painted the borders of, to signify the elements of fire and wind.

Once the earth and water pieces were dry, I decoupaged the half hexagon paper cut-outs on them.

With the four elements now complete.

I attached hooks on the back of each, to hang them on the walls as beautiful decor pieces.

Propelled by the positive responses I've had since then, I continued to develop different products using various craft techniques, learning with each project...You will find a part of me in every piece I've created so far, and I love customizing my makes for my clients because I feel that's what makes craft so beautiful and personal! Thanks to my passion to learn and create, I have also been blessed with opportunities to grow as a person, an artist and make new friends along the way!"
